Margaret A. Rabbitt
Executive Director
Texas Homeland Security Alliance

Margaret RabbittMargaret serves as the Executive Director for the Texas Homeland Security Alliance, and is the Liaison to the Government and Public Sector. Margaret provides leadership in both the private and public sectors. She is actively involved with several homeland security initiatives providing business consulting, training, cross-departmental project facilitation, event coordination, and business development. As part of the Texas economic development initiatives, Margaret serves on Texas state Cluster Initiatives for Aerospace and Defense and Manufacturing, Logistics and Supply Chain Management. A strong supporter for the Department of Texas Homeland Security, she is the only private sector citizen to be selected to serve both the Texas Integrated Joint Information System (TIJIS) state steering committee to build integrated communications amongst state and federal agencies and the North Central Texas Regional Emergency Management steering committee. Margaret is NIMS (National Incident Management Systems) certified by Texas Department of Emergency Management.

Events and projects led and facilitated by Margaret include: "Understanding the Shelter Hub: San Antonio's response to Hurricanes Katrina and Rita;" "Emergency Readiness conference" held in Dallas; SITCA Security tabletop Emergency Preparedness workshops; consolidated research topic information for the University of Texas at Dallas' "Critical Energy Infrastructure Protection and Policy," in partnership with Carleton University out of Ottawa, Canada; implementation of iCIT™ (intelligent Collaborative Interactive Tools) emergency management interoperable communications and system integration; and comparative analysis reporting for the REM (Regional Emergency Management) on videoconferencing, crisis incident management systems, and emergency notification systems.

Margaret Rabbitt is founder and President of SITCA Solutions - "Solutions Integrated Through Comprehensive Analysis," a women-owned HUB/DBE certified business specializing as liaison and business development representative for private sector companies and building public/private partnerships. Margaret has an extensive business background with over 20 years of experience leading divisions of companies, launching and branding new product lines, creating and implementing strategic marketing initiatives, and developing effective team-oriented solutions.

  • Radio interviews include KLIF with former FBI, Special Agent in Charge, Danny Defenbaugh, KTIS with Gregg Dawson, Executive Director of Emergency Preparedness for North Central Texas Council of Governments, eWomenNetwork (WBAP), Johanna Fisher Show (KCBI), and Oasis Talk Radio (KTIS).
  • Keynote guest speaker for New York's "Women In Charge" financial conference, eWomenNetwork's International Conference, and KRLD's "Female Connections, Women's Business Breakfast Forum," and KVIL's "The Mom Thing: Balancing Career, Family, and Finance."
  • Featured in various news articles, including Today's Dallas Woman cover story, Women's Enterprise, Dallas Tech Biz, and Plano Profile. Woman of the Month for NCPA's -"Women in the Economy" and NAWBO (National Association of Women Business Owners), June 2003.

Margaret is married to John Rabbitt and together has a combined family of six adult children, three daughter-in-laws, two son-in-laws and twelve grandchildren. As an active member of the Prestonwood Baptist Church, Margaret's involvement includes singing in the choir and various programs, and she serves as a volunteer counselor at the Prestonwood Family Care Center.
